Earlsfield is an area within the London Borough of Wandsworth, which sits between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon. It’s a typical London suburb comprised of mostly residential Victorian terraced houses. An area full of history dating back to the 18th century and lots of things to do in the neighbouring areas within Wandsworth.

Outdoor area

The River Wandle flows roughly parallel to Garratt Lane through the area and been the subject of a major council-funded clean-up operation, through it has been subjected to several pollution incidents in the past few years.

Wandsworth Common is a public common within Wandsworth and has 69 hectares of land which is maintained by the local council. Within the grounds there are a number of ponds and a lake which can be used for fishing. The lake is partially fenced off for the benefits of bird life, while other areas feature a pedestrian food path which boarders the waterside.

Sports and leisure

Earlsfield is accessible to many different sports grounds which include Battersea Park Millennium Arena which offers gym facilities and fitness classes, junior and adult athletics and tennis, summer camp opportunities for children, Wandle Recreation Centre who are passionate about helping you stay physically active, and emotional engaged in fitness, sport and wellbeing with their gym and fitness studios, outdoor football pitches and a soft play area and Fuzedown Recreation Centre which offers training lessons and camps for football and tennis throughout the year.

Wandsworth is also full of fun leisure activities for all ages which include, Go Ape Battersea Park which involves high ropes courses for those looking for some adventure, Putt In The Park which is an outdoor crazy golf course for all ages, and The Postal Museum where you can discover the secret world of post, newly adapted technology and ride the mail rail which is a miniature underground railway.

In addition to this, Earlsfield is also close to Chelsea, Kingston upon Thames and Central London for a bit of retail therapy.

Education

Albemarle Primary School – A mixed school for pupils aged 3-11. At Albermarle, the staff and Governors provide a relevant, creative and inclusive curriculum which raises achievement, encourages all children to have a love of learning and inspires them to succeed in everything they do.

The closest stations in Earlsfield include Earlsfield and Clapham Junction. The closest tube station is Tooting Broadway which is located in Zone 3 of the Northern line with access to London Waterloo in minutes.
