Navigating through COVID-19

With the number of Covid-19 cases increasing across the whole of the UK, the government has acted to try and control the spread of the virus by introducing another lockdown.

From Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, the government is also asking people to not gather with others they do not live with, except for specific purposes, as well as close certain businesses and venues, but does that include estate agency branches?

The property market has been specifically allowed to continue under the already strict guidelines and protocols previously introduced. Under the new rules, people will still be allowed to move home throughout England, but only when moving to a permanent primary address. Temporary moves will not be allowed unless it is an emergency.

Writing on Twitter, Housing Minister Robert Jenrick outlined: “Housing market update ahead of Thursday’s measures: Renters & homeowners will be able to move; Removal firms and estate agents can operate; Construction sites can and should continue; Tradespeople will be able to enter homes. ‘But all must follow the COVID safety guidance.”

Our approach to conducting business under COVID19 has always placed the safety of our customers, clients and staff at the heart of what we do. We would ask that you book a timed appointment if planning to visit our office and wear a mask when doing so and please cancel your appointment if you feel unwell.

Whilst our office is OPEN, some of our team will continue to work remotely and staff will be working on a rotation basis. All staff will be contactable during this time, so please do not hesitate to call.

All our offices will be locked and access will only be allowed to those who have appointments. We ask everyone to scan in using our NHS QR code located on every door.  Appointments at properties are still being organised but strict protocols are in place. We will explain these at the time of booking a viewing or valuation and will require you to follow these for the benefit of everyone.

Finally, we hope you are staying safe during this time. We are here to help and provide advice if needed, so please give us a call.

Kind regards,

Robert Fraser
