Summer Vibes

With the summer months slowly but surely making its way to London nothing gets us more amped for the sunny season than the long list of events scattered around the city to make the most of the warmer weather. We have put a list of our top 5 summer events that we feel every Londoner should experience and to feel the true meaning of summer vibes.

Notting Hill Carnival

Notting Hill Carnival is Europe’s largest street festival which is organised by Notting Hill Carnival Limited. This is an annual event which takes place on August bank holiday weekend (last weekend of August) and has taken place since 1966, attracting millions if people every year to celebrate Caribbean culture. This is a festival filled with free open-aired performances, bright and colourful costuming, music and dancing. This event takes place in the streets of Notting Hill Kensington area. Closest station is Notting Hill Gate tube station which is commutable via the Circle and District Line, and Central line.

Underbelly Festival

Underbelly festivals involves some world class entertainment at a pop up festival in the brilliant location of South Bank London. This event is filled with new Family Fest events, Underbelly Late Shows, Podcast Live, and some of the best circus, cabaret, comedy and music performances. Open during the day with different bars and seating area’s for everyone during the day but adults only during the night time. Shows last around 1 hour long and tickets start from £20.

Rooftop Cinema Club

Great movies deserve a great location. At Rooftop Cinema Club, you can watch some of your favourite movies outside with some of the most breath-taking backdrops London has to offer. Rooftop cinema can be found at Bussey Building in Peckham, Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch and Roof East in Stratford. This year they will be showing classic movies such as 10 Things I hate About You, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Dirty Dancing and Romeo + Juliet, along with new releases such as The Greatest Showman, Captain Marvel, A Star Is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody. Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

The Royal Academy is located in Mayfair, close to Piccadilly Circus. This summer they will be hosting the 251st Summer Exhibition which has run every summer since 1769. This is the world’s largest open submission art show, bringing together art in all mediums, painting, print work, film and photography, sculpture, architecture and much more.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

Regent’s Parks Open Air Theatre was established in 1932, and is one of the largest theatre in London and provides the theatre experience but instead of sitting inside, you are outside. Previous shows include Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, William Shakespeare Henry V, and award winning musical Little Shop of Horrors. This year they will be showing; Our Town, Hansel and Gretel, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Evita.
