Harrow is a huge area in north west London and very much a standalone town with a pedestrianised town centre. It's probably most famous for being home to Harrow School, one of the most prestigious private schools in the country with such distinguished alumni as Winston Churchill and any number of royals, politicians and aristocrats.

Harrow-on-the-Hill contains a conservation area with a large proportion of listed buildings with a residential and institutional array of Georgian architecture and a few 17th century examples. It's a very well-connected area with two tube stations on the Metropolitan Line which take commuters into Baer Street in about 17 minutes. It's not just a commuter suburb though, there are enough jobs in the immediate vicinity for it to be a fairly self-contained economic entity.

Harrow contains the following neighbourhoods defined by Rentonomy:

Shopping and Culture

Food and Drink

Harrow is home to a wide range of restaurants, cafes and eateries. Whether you are looking for a romantic dinner, quick lunchtime bite, a sweet treat or a coffee and a catch up, there will be something for you.

For a bit of light refreshment, local favourite The Dolls House on the Hill is a cafe and restaurant behind a Georgian shop front serving up afternoon tea in vintage cups.

For something a tad stronger, try The Castle pub on West Street, a classic Victorian pub with open fires, wooden floors and period lamps, clocks and fittings. Incanto on the High Street is also a beloved contemporary Italian restaurant with an in-house deli set in a modern refit of an old Post Office.
